Because I love angst, here’s some angst.

Adam getting severely injured but he’s far enough into his redemption journey that he is convinced he deserves it. So he doesn’t tell anyone.

Alastor notices, but doesn’t think it’s too serious, since he doesn’t mention being hurt.

And no one finds out until maybe Adam is going to sleep with Lucifer, requests they stay clothed, and then he screams in pain when he moves wrong and Lucifer is all concerned.

Man, that is indeed very far into his redemption, and the dude takes a blow, perhaps in battle or something like that, and then he just leaves that there, because let's say it was uuhh Cherri, for murdering sir pentious. And he just... Yeah I mean, he was a dick, he obliterated the guy without a second thought, he deserves to take this.

And then when Lucifer finds out he's angry at Cherri, but mostly at Adam for not telling him before. And then Adam tells him why he did that and Lucifer just sighs and starts treating it, telling him how stupid he is and that being a martyr is not going to solve anyone's problems. Adam doesn't even know what to say, he thought he was finally doing something right, but now Lucifer is apparently mad at him. They go back to sleep.

Sorry i have to go off on my Squall/Seifer tangent (that nobody cares about)🤣

It's one of my oldest ship and it still has an incredible hold on me...and in fact it resurfaces every now and then.

FF8 is one of the titles in the series that I liked the least and the one that would most need a remake🤔

They say that something flawed offers much more food for thought or desire to explore it better and this is very true, I'm still here lol

It has so many good things...but they have been assembled a bit...😬 That's exactly the problem, there is really so much stuff and some things are set aside during the story to make room for the 'important stuff'. Things that shouldn't be set aside.

Like Seifer.

It's a real shame because right from the splendid Op (one of the best ever) it shows you their strong bond. He and Squall are perfect opposites, two sides of the same coin. Both could have ended up in the other's situation.

Loneliness and rejection shaped them since they were little and they reacted to it differently depending on their nature.

They are both war orphans who were not adopted because of their 'difficult' personalities.

And then they were forced to become soldiers.

Squall doesn't care, he doesn't care about anything, so this situation is as good as any other. Seifer on the other hand is much more romantic and passionate! The military academy is too restrictive for him, he doesn't like taking orders.

If you really stop to think about it, Squall is appreciated because he follows orders to the letter without complaining (except internally lol) and without expressing opinions. Seifer despised for his excessive personality and individuality.

But he didn't want to become a soldier.

He always fails because following orders without thinking is not for him.

And it's incredibly sad how afterwards, his romantic dream is distorted and shattered. Always reduced to being up to the 'role' and knowing how to execute and complete orders.

Another kind of soldier.

Both make me very sad once you discard the whole anime-style fake high school part.

But thinking about Seifer makes me feel especially bad because he's on the side of the 'bad guys' of the 'losers' and will always go down in history as a wicked and heartless war criminal. A failure.

Always 'wrong' inside.

Both he and Squall have been given far too much responsibility and power for their ages. And no real choices.

They are only 17 and 18 years old and are commanders of their respective faction's armies 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

And that's why the role they gave Seifer in the KH universe moved me.

He's not despised, he has his friends beside him and is living his life in peace, happy😭😭😭😭😭

There are many great fics but the one that I love the most and that I continue to reread year after year when I think about these two is 'The Summer Soldier'. Imo the best to interprets what can happen after the end of the game. And Cid takes both responsibility for the Garden and his role as a father figure. A real rarity lol 😂😂😂😂😂
